Orthodox Method of Production Tea is plucked by hand and processed into a dried product. We select teas manufactured by this method. The top two leaves and the bud is plucked in a fine plucking. Orthodox production methods select the newest growth of the tea plant. The resulting flavor of orthodox teas is more refined and less harsh than CTC teas. CTC Method of Production Tea is harvested by machine. CTC is an acronym for crush, tear and curl. CTC methods cut off a foot or more of the tea plant. The stems are processed along with the leaf by the CTC method. |
